Amon and his partner Opal are guardians to the Gelph Princess Nanandia. They are tracking Nan, who escaped an unwanted marriage but crashed her luna ship on New Terra. Nan doesn't remember them, who she is, or the powers she possesses. Amon and Opal do not know much about the beings of NT and how they live. They themselves have taken on convincing forms but are awkward in their manners and speech. Most of the people they meet just think they are strange immigrants and give them little notice.
